If you’re looking to wet your whistle while calling a bespoke Union Station Nashville Yards room or suite your home-away-from-home in Music City, USA, you’re in the perfect position. Not only do we host the popular Stationairy restaurant and The Bar Car, but also place our guests close to some outstanding craft breweries and distilleries. Here is a representative selection (and a selection only) of some of the locations close by our historic luxury boutique hotel on Broadway!
Nashville Breweries
Nashville lays claim to a wonderful lineup of world-class craft breweries, many within but a stone’s throw of The Union Station Nashville Yards.
Tailgate Brewery – 1538 Demonbreun St. (Music Row taproom), plus multiple other locati0ns
Tailgate Brewery opened its doors back in 2014 and now operates a number of fantastic taprooms around Nashville (and one in a great old building in Chattanooga, Tennessee), including a Music Row watering hole just a hop, skip, and a jump from The Union Station Nashville Yards. This independent brewery and pizzeria offers such fine year-round beers as the Tennessee Golden Lager, the Tailgate Orange Wheat Beer, the Tropic Wizard Juicy IPA, and the Howdy Cloudy Hazy Session IPA, sales of which partly support the Nashville Zoo’s important clouded-leopard conservation initiative (learn more about that here). Another staple flagship is the Tailgate Cider.
On top of that always-available contingent, you can also sip a wide array of Tailgate Brewery seasonal releases as well as special brews from the exciting taproom-only and barrel-aged series.
Marble Fox Brewing Co. – 701 8th Ave S
As a guest of ours at The Union Station, you’ll also find yourself within ready reach of the Marble Fox Brewing Co. taproom in Nashville’s hip and happening Gulch neighborhood. The family that runs the brewery has mighty deep roots in the suds department, stretching back to the legendary Fox Head Brewing Co., established in the late 1800s in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (a city, as you may have heard, with some significant beer-making associations).
Among the possibilities at Marble Fox are The Method Double IPA, Rye’P Rye IPA, Starless Echoes Imperial Oatmeal Stout, Torchlight Tiki Sour IPA, OktoberFox Marzen, and Zorro Mexican Pale Lager. Really, you can’t go wrong…
Hi-Wire Brewing – 820 Division St.
The Nashville South Gulch taproom of Hi-Wire Brewing—which opened in Asheville, North Carolina in 2013 and now manages locations across five states—is a light-filled, airy, mural-festooned space connecting to an inviting covered patio outside. Try one of the flagship beers—the Hi-Pitch Mosaic IPA, for example, or the Mountain Water Citrus Splash Easy Drinking Ale—or explore seasonal creations such as the Margarita Sour Tart Ale or the Strongman Coffee Milk Stout, or such specialty releases as the Hurricane Sour or Black Lager.
Tennessee Brew Works – 809 Ewing Ave
Kick back at the Tennessee Brew Works patio and enjoy live music (from weekly open mics to local bands), a really creative pub menu, and some knockout beers, including flagship pours such as Urban Hiker Tennessee Lager, the State Park Blonde Ale, the Southern Wit, the Extra Easy Amber, and the Hippies & Cowboys IPA. Tennessee Brew Works also tempts with a slew of special and limited releases, including a great series of craft brews aged in George Dickel Tennessee Whisky barrels.
Yee-Haw Brewing Co. – 423 6th Ave S
Another great craft brewery within shouting distance of The Union Station Nashville Yards, Yee-Haw Brewing Co. (originally launched in Johnson City, Tennessee) shares its 6th and Peabody outpost in SoBro with Ole Smoky Moonshine/Distillery: a match made in heaven. Refreshing Yee-Haw brews range from topnotch versions of Dunkel and Kölsch to the Vol Lager, the official craft beer of the University of Tennessee’s Tennessee Volunteers.
Blackstone Brewing Co. – 2312 Clifton Ave
Among Nashville’s most venerable craft breweries, Blackstone Brewing Co. got its start in 1994 and has been going strong ever since. Its West End facility includes a 30-barrel brewhouse, a taproom with 16 rotating taps, and the beloved B-Stone Bus, which serves up such crowd-pleasing and suds-friendly goodness as brats and chicken tenders. Blackstone claims some genuine award-winners among its releases, including the St. Charles Porter, Chaser Kölsch, and Nut Brown Ale (all three of which are among the craft beers available year-round).
Barrique Brewing & Blending – 30 Oldham St.
Head over to the other side of the river to sample Barrique Brewing’s specialty brews, including oak-barrel cask ales and wild ales such as the Straight Sipper Watermelon Wild Ale, Vitis Grape Wild Ale, and Petite Coupage Blended Table Saison. And if you want to ease into things with something a bit more “mainstream,” the brewery has you covered with some super-solid Pilsners, lagers, IPAs, and other standards as well.
Nashville Distilleries
Your Marriott Autograph Collection accommodations here at The Union Station Nashville Yards also put you within easy striking distance of a number of first-rate Music City distilleries. Here are a few to check out!
Corsair Distillery – 1200 Clinton St. #110
Established in 2008 in Bowling Green, Kentucky and with a firmly established presence in Nashville, Corsair Distillery actually bridges the divide between spirits and craft beer: A visit to its “Brewstillery” lets you sample both! Aiming to serve “Nashville in a bottle,” Corsair has earned better than 800 medals for its spirits, which include pot-distilled American and Barreled Gin and the Dark Rye American Rye Malt Whiskey, among other offerings.
Big Machine Distillery – 2824 Bransford Ave
Big-name record executive Scott Borchetta (of Taylor Swift fame, for one thing) helms Big Machine Distillery, widely known for its Double Gold Award-winning Platinum Filtered Premium Vodka as well as bourbon, whisky, gin, rum, and other spirits.
Ole Smoky Distillery – 423 6th Ave
The aforementioned Old Smoky Distillery, neighbors of Yee-Haw Brewing Co. at 6th and Peabody, offers a smorgasbord of different Ole Smoky Moonshine flavors—from Apple Pie 70 Proof, White Lightnin’, and Honey Charred to Cinnamon Toast Cream and Razzin’ Berry—as well as a variety of whiskeys.
Standard Proof Whiskey – 219 Rep John Lewis Way N
Some lip-smacking New American oak barrel-aged rye whiskeys are among the offerings at the Standard Proof Whiskey Nashville tasting room, the place to be for whiskey cocktails during its Monday-through-Friday Happy Hour. You can also up your own personal mixology game at one of the cocktail classes held here!
Peg Leg Porker Spirits – 2700 Eugenia Ave
The Peg Leg Porker Spirits tasting room gives you a unique opportunity to sip Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey crafted by a genuine BBQ pitmaster, Carey Pringle. And his proprietary charcoal-filtering process has earned Peg Leg Porker plenty of accolades, not least at the 2023 Tasting Alliance World Championship, where the distillery’s White Label was named “World’s Best Bourbon.”
Nashville Barrel Co.– 809 Heathcote Ave
Guests at Union Station can enjoy Nashville Barrel Co., where the art of whiskey-making is perfected in the heart of Music City. Just as Nashville blends tradition with innovation, so do our handcrafted spirits, aging in small batches to create a bold, distinctive flavor. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or a newcomer to the world of whiskey, every bottle captures the soul of the city — rich in history, full of character, and ready to be savored.
