The Frist Art Museum is a nonprofit art exhibition center dedicated to presenting the finest visual art from local, state and regional artists, as well as major US and international exhibitions. The Frist occupies Nashville’s former main post office building, a 124,400-square-foot facility with nearly 40,000 square feet of exhibition space. The city’s treasured art deco building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
