Boutique Hotel near Nashville Music Venues

Nashville, Tennessee ranks, of course, among the best cities for taking in live music not only in the country, but (goshdarnit) in the world. They don’t call our fair town Music City, USA for nothing, and without question the musical genres and styles that have been developed and refined here—not to mention the countless legendary artists who’ve plied their trade in Nashville—have had a global reach.

Our luxury boutique hotel here at The Union Station Nashville Yards provides an exceptional (and historic) perch for taking in live tunes, from no-frills club shows and intimate cafe performances to big-time concerts on world-famous stages. Here’s a survey of just some of the standout venues that Music City’s chockablock with!

Ryman Auditorium

No respectable music lover should skip a chance to visit the famed “Mother Church of Country Music,” which has welcomed everyone from Hank Williams to Carrie Underwood under its incredible reign. Simply touring this concert hall is a magical experience. Heck, this was where Johnny Cash met June Carter!

And it’s worth noting that while country is obviously the Ryman’s rock-solid scaffold, other genres have been memorably represented here: The venue has hosted The Pixies, Wu-Tang Clan, Foo Fighters, and Lizzo, among other decidedly non-country acts.

The Grand Ole Opry House

Ryman Auditorium was the original home of the Grand Ole Opry, but for decades now that iconic country-music showcase has enjoyed at its own dedicated venue (while still showing up regularly at the Ryman). Whether you’re here for the Opry itself or just to take a backstage tour, this is another honest-to-goodness pilgrimage site for musically inclined Nashville visitors.

The Station Inn

Among the great places anywhere in the world to catch some bluegrass, The Station Inn has been going strong since 1974—and it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump from The Union Station Nashville Yards over in The Gulch neighborhood. The Inn’s hosted everybody from Bill Monroe and Ricky Skaggs to Dolly Parton, Allison Krauss, and The Johnson Mountain Boys.

The 5 Spot

Get your rock-and-roll on at the renowned but refreshingly unpretentious 5 Spot, a fantastic place to check out hot local bands. (In 2016, by the way, no less a luminary than Lady Gaga played a private show here.)

The Bluebird Cafe

Opened in 1982, the Bluebird Cafe is easily one of the most hallowed live-music spots in town, with an incredibly illustrious resume of past performers: Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Steve Earle, Bonnie Raitt, Jerry Jeff Walker, Taylor Swift, Townes Van Zandt, Trisha Yearwood—and on and on.
